Marshell is free to download. Main Agent access includes a 21-day trial; continued access may require a one-time purchase when available. The open-source edition remains available.
Marshell checks for signed updates on Windows, macOS, and Linux AppImage installations. Required updates may download, install, and restart the app automatically. Linux package installations can update by installing the latest package.
Workspace files and terminals run locally. Main Agent access requires online account and trial checks. Local model providers can run locally; hosted providers require a connection.
Marshell supports Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Mistral, Google Gemini, and any local or self-hosted OpenAI-compatible endpoint (Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM). API keys are encrypted and stored solely on your local device.
The macOS Universal build runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs. If you prefer a smaller file size for an Apple Silicon Mac, select the arm64 .dmg installer.
